Sales, Reservations, Health & Herd Policies

At High Juniper Nigerians, we strive to breed and raise the highest-quality Nigerian Dwarf dairy goats possible. We are always happy to answer questions, discuss your goals, and point you in the right direction for what best fits your needs.

💰 PRICES

Our prices start at $400 and go up from there.

• Does from first fresheners (FFs) are priced at $400.
• We do not sell bucklings from first fresheners as breeding bucks.
• If we believe a buckling from an FF has potential to be a quality breeding buck, we may retain him until his dam has become proven before placing him elsewhere.
• Pricing is based on the genetic performance and potential of the sire and dam.
• Prices are not increased simply because a kid has flashy coloring or markings. We focus on genetics, structure, production, pedigree, and overall quality.

📋 DEPOSITS & RESERVATIONS

A deposit is required to secure an individual goat for purchase.

• Deposits are 50% of the purchase price.
• All deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE.
• A deposit may be transferred to another available animal if the original animal is no longer the right fit, provided another suitable animal is available for purchase.
• During kidding season, we reserve the right to prioritize our own herd needs before making kids available to buyers.

Specific Pairing Reservations

Reservations for specific pairings are $50–$100.

A reservation places you on the list for that pairing but does not guarantee a particular sex, color, or individual kid.

After the kid is born, the appropriate deposit will be required to secure the kid.

Our general call/waitlist is FREE. Once reservations have been filled, those on the call/waitlist will be contacted regarding remaining available kids.

🚚 TRANSPORT

All transportation costs are the buyer’s responsibility.

• Out-of-state transportation/shipping can be arranged by the buyer and is at the buyer’s expense.
• We are often able to meet buyers in the Tucson and/or Phoenix areas, within reason.
• A travel fee may apply depending on the location.

❤️ HEALTH & MANAGEMENT

Our goats are guaranteed healthy at the time of sale. Once an animal leaves our property, no additional health guarantee is extended.

Our kids receive a medicated feed beginning around 2 weeks of age that provides a coccidiosis preventative.

Disbudding

Kids are disbudded unless they are naturally polled or prior arrangements have been made.

If you do not want your kid disbudded, the goat must be paid in full before 2 weeks of age so arrangements can be made accordingly.

Vaccinations

We vaccinate our kids with CDT.

• Does receive a CDT booster approximately 30 days before kidding.
• Kids receive their initial CDT vaccination at approximately 3 weeks of age.
• Kids receive a booster approximately 3–4 weeks later.

Weaning

Dam-raised kids are generally weaned between 8–12 weeks of age, depending on the individual kid and dam.

Registration

All of our goats are registered through the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA).

All kids born on our farm will be registered under our herd name.

Registration paperwork will be sent to the buyer after full payment has been received.

🐐 GOATS ARE HERD ANIMALS

Goats are herd animals, and we do not knowingly sell a single kid into a home where it will be the only goat.

You do not have to purchase two goats from High Juniper Nigerians. However, you must either:

• Already have goats, or
• Place a deposit on another goat.

We are happy to work with buyers to create a doe/wether pair when appropriate, and we can also point you toward other reputable breeders if you need a second goat.

Our goal is to make sure every kid goes into a home where its social and welfare needs can be met.

🧪 BIOSECURITY

The health of our herd is one of our highest priorities.

Our biosecurity program is continually evaluated as our herd, breeding program, and participation in shows evolve.

2026 Testing Protocol

During Fall/Winter 2026, all of our does will be tested for:

• Johne’s
• CAE
• CL

These results will establish an updated baseline for our herd.

Going forward, we will not be testing the entire herd for CL annually. While we strongly believe in responsible biosecurity, we also recognize the limitations of CL blood testing and the possibility of inaccurate or misleading results.

New Herd Additions

Any goat entering our herd will be:

• Quarantined
• Tested for Johne’s, CAE, and CL
• Tested through laboratory-submitted samples
• Established with a baseline before being introduced to the herd

If a goat develops signs or symptoms that raise concern for CL, that animal will be immediately quarantined and evaluated, with appropriate testing and management pursued.

We have always been committed to transparency and responsible herd management, and testing results can be provided when applicable.

Returning Goats

Once a goat leaves High Juniper Nigerians and enters another herd, we do not allow that goat to return to our herd unless the appropriate biosecurity requirements have been met.

Our priority is protecting the health of the entire herd while being transparent with our buyers and fellow breeders.
